Jesus is God in the flesh.
Adherents to other world religions deny this truth.
Any psuedo-Christian group denying this truth is a cult.
Furthermore, no one can hope for eternal life without
placing their faith in this fundamental Bible doctrine.
The acceptance of Jesus as Deity, thus, the second person of the Trinity, distinguishes Christians from other world religions as well as the cults.  The Bible says that Jesus is God in the flesh.
The Scriptures provide all the evidence needed to validate this doctrine...
Jesus has always been with the Father.  The Old Testament prophet wrote, "For unto us a Child is born... And His name will be called... Everlasting..." (Isaiah 9:6).   The New Testament declares, "To the Son He says, '...You O Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of your hands"    (Hebrews 1:10).  Doubting or not believing this doctrine would demonstrate a total lack of understanding regarding God altogether.  If God truly be everywhere, why would He not be able to come to this world in the flesh using the laws of natural birth, development, and maturation that He Himself created?  If God is truly all knowing, why would he not be able to come to this world to teach man those principles that He determinded are most essential?  If God is truly all powerful, why would he not be able to come to this world, live, demonstrate his love by sacrificing Himself in death, and then, by hiw own power, raise Himself from the dead.  Who would argue these points and how radically would they have to twist the clear teachings of Scripture to do so?
Jesus fulfilled all of the Old Testament prophecies concerning a Messiah.  It has been determined that Jesus had 1 chance in 10 to the 28th power ("Science Speaks" Moody Press) of fulfilling the many prophecies regarding a Messiah without taking into consideration those that are yet to be fulfilled when He comes back to set up His earthly kingdom.  In fact, He did it.   Regardless of all those who have claimed messianic ownership down through the ages, none of them even began to fulfill any of the Old Testament prophecies concerning the true identity of the Messiah.  He fulfilled every single one of them and with ease.  "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."
Jesus has the power to forgive sins.  The Gospel writer, Luke, asks, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Luke 5:20-25)  Verse 24 provides the answer, "The Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins."  Since it is God Whom we have sinned against whenever we do so, whether they be sins of commission or ommission, it is only He Who can grant forgiveness.  Indeed, he forgives those who humbly seek His grace and mercy.  The Bible makes it clear that Jesus has the power to forgive sin.  Therefore, if only God can forgive sin, then who is Jesus?
Jesus demonstrated power that belongs to God alone.  How many men have turned water into wine, healed the sick, walked on water, cured lepers, fed thousands with a little boy's lunch, and even raised the dead?  These events were corroborated by hundreds and thousands.  They were either mass halucinations or these events really happened.  Jesus was either a huckster that executed impossible magic tricks or He is, in fact, God in the flesh.  Then, to top it all off, He did something that goes beyone anyone's ability to rationalize other than what is undeniably evident...He raised Himself from the dead.  Unlike those who claimed messiahship and are long dead and gone, the Messiah walked triumphant out of His tomb after having been subjected to a death that would have been absolutely impossible to escape.
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
(1Corinthians 15:4-8).
   Jesus is Deity.
Those who desire to dubunk this truth are defeated by God's Word before they even begin.
Those who accept this truth and do so by exercising personal faith in the risen Son of God may expect to live forever.

Slippage Questions: The Doctrine of God the Son

"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."  ~ Hebrews 2:1

Does the church you attend teach that Jesus is Deity and that He is, in fact, the Son of God?
Did you know that the cults (Christian Scientists, Jehovah Witnesses, Unitarians) do not accept the Deity of Jesus?
If Jesus is not Who He says He is, then why does the Bible make it clear that those who do not put their faith and trust in Him will go to Hell?  John 3:36
If Jesus is not God in the flesh but just a good teacher or prophet, then why did he go through all the trouble of dying on the cross and raising Himself from the dead?
Did the church you attend once emphasize the personal acceptance of God's Son to be saved or has it since departed from declaring the Gospel to explore what it now says are more relevant issues?
Do you think that lost souls in Hell are concerned about whatever those "relevant issues" might be?
